Introduction

 Introduction

The objective of this report is to analyze the information systems used by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, also known as Six Flags Theme Parks. Our group will focus on the operations value chain activity and the business process we will be analyzing is their new touch-free security scanning system Evolv Express. These new technology enhancements, along with their business expertise, have made Six Flags a leader in their industry.

What is Six Flags?

 Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is an amusement park corporation, with its main headquarters in Arlington, Texas. It was founded in Angus G. Wynne, August 5, 1961. Six Flags currently has 26 parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada and plans to open a location soon in Saudi Arabia. They are known for their world-class rollercoasters, thrill rides, an up-close animal safari and water parks for families and people of all ages. Currently, due to the Covid pandemic, additional safety protocols have been enacted and a reservation system is being utilized in order for guests to enjoy the theme park. The information systems manager we plan to interview is Trey Hurley, the MIS Manager of the Jackson, NJ location, who holds his Associate degree in Network System Administration/Administrator from ITT Technical Institute. Mr. Hurley has been a dedicated employee to the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation for the past 12 years.

  • Use of state-of-the-art temperature reading technology to ensure an efficient guest experience.
  • Implementation of a web-based reservation system for all guests to reduce congestion at the entrance gate.
  • Use of a new high tech touchless security screening system to efficiently perform guest and bag checks.
